Chewy in the center, golden on the edges, and packed with melty chocolate chips + crunchy walnuts. The perfect cookie!

📋 Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • ½ cup walnut pieces

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prep Oven – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. Cream Butter & Sugars – In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).

  3. Add Wet Ingredients – Mix in egg and vanilla until fully combined.

  4. Mix Dry Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Combine – Slowly add dry ingredients into wet, mixing until just combined (don’t overmix).

  6. Fold In – Stir in chocolate chips and walnut pieces.

  7. Scoop & Shape – Drop dough balls (about 2 tbsp each) onto baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.

  8. Bake – Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until edges are golden but centers still look soft.

  9. Cool – Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

✨ Tips for Extra Gooey Cookies

  • Chill dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies.

  • Press a few extra chocolate chips on top before baking for a bakery-style look.

  • Slightly underbake (by 1 minute) if you love gooey centers.
