🛒 Ingredients
-
1 ½ lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
-
2 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp sesame oil
-
2 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
-
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
-
2 green onions, finely sliced
-
1 tsp chili flakes (optional, for spice)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
Bamboo or metal skewers (if using bamboo, soak in water 30 minutes)
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Make the Marinade
In a medium bowl, whisk together:
-
Soy sauce
-
Sesame oil
-
Honey
-
Rice vinegar
-
Garlic
-
Ginger
-
Chili flakes (if using)
Add the cubed steak, toss to coat evenly, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours to marinate.
2. Assemble the Skewers
Thread the marinated steak cubes onto skewers. If you’d like, alternate with pieces of bell pepper, red onion, or zucchini for extra flavor and color.
3. Grill the Skewers
Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
Grill the skewers for 8–10 minutes, turning every few minutes until the steak is charred on the outside and cooked to your desired doneness (medium is ideal).
4. Finish and Garnish
Transfer skewers to a plate and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
Serve immediately with steamed rice, grilled vegetables, or a simple Asian slaw.
💡 Tips
-
For extra flavor, brush the skewers with leftover marinade (boil it first to make it safe) during the last 2 minutes of grilling.
-
Want a tangy twist? Add 1 tablespoon of orange juice or lime juice to the marinade.
-
These skewers can also be cooked in an air fryer at 400°F for 8–10 minutes.
