Pizza Casserole (Foil Pan Style)
Ingredients
Base
2 cups cooked pasta (penne, rotini, or ziti) or 1 lb diced potatoes (parboiled)
1½ cups pizza sauce or marinara
Toppings
1 cup cooked ground beef or sausage
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ cup sliced black olives
½ cup chopped green bell peppers
¼ cup chopped onions (optional)
½ cup cherry tomatoes or diced tomatoes
Seasoning (optional but good)
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp garlic powder
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the meat
Brown ground beef or sausage in a pan. Drain excess fat. Season lightly.Prepare the base
If using pasta: cook until just tender, then drain.
If using potatoes: boil diced potatoes 8–10 minutes until barely soft.
Mix
In a large bowl, combine pasta/potatoes, pizza sauce, cooked meat, and seasonings.Assemble
Lightly oil a foil pan.
Add the mixture evenly.
Top with mozzarella, bell peppers, olives, tomatoes, and onions.
Bake
Cover loosely with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.Cool & serve
Let it rest 5 minutes before eating.
Variations
Veggie version: Skip meat, add mushrooms, zucchini, or spinach
Spicy: Add red pepper flakes or jalapeños
Extra cheesy: Mix mozzarella with a little cheddar
