🛒 Ingredients

For the Dough (or use store-bought crust):

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp instant yeast

  • ½ tsp sugar

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¾ cup warm water

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Toppings:

  • ½ cup pizza sauce or crushed San Marzano tomatoes

  • 1 ½ cups fresh mozzarella (sliced or torn)

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • Fresh basil leaves

  • Salt, to taste

  • Optional: Pinch of chili flakes or black pepper

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough (Skip if using store-bought)

In a bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil.
Mix until a soft dough forms, then knead for 5 minutes until smooth.
Cover and let rest for 10 minutes while you prepare the toppings.

2. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.

3. Shape the Pizza

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a 10–12 inch circle.
Transfer to parchment paper for easy handling.

4. Assemble

Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
Top with mozzarella slices and drizzle lightly with olive oil.
Add a sprinkle of salt (and chili flakes if desired).

5. Bake

Transfer the pizza (with parchment) onto the hot baking sheet or stone.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
