Ginger Water (Hot or Cold)
Ingredients

1–2 inches fresh ginger root

3–4 cups water

Optional: honey, lemon, or mint (to taste)

Ice (if serving cold)
Instructions

Prepare the ginger

Wash the ginger well.

Peel if you want (optional), then slice or lightly crush it.

Boil
-
Add ginger and water to a pot.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes (longer = stronger flavor).

Strain
-
Remove from heat and strain out the ginger pieces.

Serve
-
Hot: Drink as is, or add a little honey or lemon.

Cold: Let it cool, pour over ice, and add lemon or mint if you like.

Tips
-
For a milder taste, use less ginger or simmer for a shorter time.

Store in the fridge up to 2 days in a covered container.
