Ginger Water (Hot or Cold)

Ingredients

  • 1–2 inches fresh ginger root

  • 3–4 cups water

  • Optional: honey, lemon, or mint (to taste)

  • Ice (if serving cold)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ginger

    • Wash the ginger well.

    • Peel if you want (optional), then slice or lightly crush it.

  2. Boil

    • Add ginger and water to a pot.

    • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes (longer = stronger flavor).

  3. Strain

    • Remove from heat and strain out the ginger pieces.

  4. Serve

    • Hot: Drink as is, or add a little honey or lemon.

    • Cold: Let it cool, pour over ice, and add lemon or mint if you like.

Tips

  • For a milder taste, use less ginger or simmer for a shorter time.

  • Store in the fridge up to 2 days in a covered container.
