Ginger Water Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1–2 inches fresh ginger root

  • 2–3 cups water

  • ½ lemon (optional)

  • Honey or sugar (optional, to taste)

  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ginger
    Wash the ginger well. Peel it (optional) and slice or grate it.

  2. Boil
    Add the ginger to water and bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and let it simmer for 10–15 minutes (longer = stronger flavor).

  3. Strain
    Remove from heat and strain out the ginger pieces.

  4. Flavor (optional)
    Add lemon juice and a little honey or sugar if you like.

  5. Serve

    • Drink warm, or

    • Let it cool, add ice and mint leaves for a refreshing cold drink.
