Cookie Dough Ice Cream Recipe
Ingredients:
For the cookie dough:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
For the ice cream base:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Make the edible cookie dough:
- In a bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add milk and vanilla extract and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour and salt together.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Stir in mini chocolate chips.
- Cover and refrigerate the dough while you prepare the ice cream base.
Prepare the ice cream base:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until sugar is dissolved.
- Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Combine:
- Break the cookie dough into small chunks.
- During the last 5 minutes of churning, add cookie dough chunks to the ice cream maker.
- Transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze for at least 2-4 hours until firm.
